PROGRAM IMPLEMENTATION
Coaching Cohort
Registration open for October-December 2026
Does this sound familiar?
Your attempt to implement a new prevention program or strategy has stalled out.
You had great initial energy, but you haven't gotten the widespread adoption you were hoping for. Or you're planning to launch a new strategy, and you want to make sure it's successful.
You aren't alone. Many coalitions and state health departments do a ton of work to educate their prevention network on a new strategy, but haven't quite figured out how to bridge the gap between a great idea and sustainable practice.
That's the gap the Program Implementation Coaching Cohort is built to close.
How the Cohort works
Everything in the cohort is built around the Program Implementation Roadmap - the eight elements that determine whether a new prevention strategy is adopted or stalls out.
You'll apply the framework to one prevention program or strategy you're responsible for.
Coaching Sessions
Six 90-minute virtual sessions, every other week. Each session takes one part of the Roadmap and applies it to your program. We'll look at how it’s currently operating and how it can be strengthened.
Action Items
Every session ends with one action you commit to before we meet again. The next session opens with an action report - what you did, what got in the way, and what you learned. This builds a foundation for progress beyond the cohort.
Peer Support
During sessions, you’ll dive deep into your strategy with a small group of peers doing similar work in other states. You’ll get feedback and ideas for improvement tailored to your strategy’s needs.
What you'll walk away with
Roadmap Assessment showing where your program stands on all eight elements
Custom Program Implementation Roadmap for your specific program, built one section at a time across the six sessions
90-day action plan with the first steps already underway before the cohort ends
Who this is for
Sexual and domestic violence coalition and state health department staff who support primary prevention.
If you provide training and technical assistance to local centers implementing prevention or you have a hand in shaping your state's prevention strategy, this cohort is for you.
One requirement: You need a specific program, strategy, or initiative you're responsible for that’s either in progress or being planned. The cohort is built around developing your own work. If you're not sure whether your role qualifies, email me before you register and we'll figure out your best option together.
You'll get the most out of this Coaching Cohort if you're:
Sitting on a strategy that looks great on paper but hasn't made progress in months
New to a prevention role and inheriting a program that's already in motion
About to launch something new and want the implementation plan locked in before you start

Frequently Asked Questions

-
Coaching Cohort participants should expect to commit 16-22 total hours over the 10 week program:
1 hour for the pre-cohort Roadmap Assessment
9 hours of coaching sessions (six 90-minute sessions)
6-12 hours on action items (1-2 hours after each session)
Beyond time, participants make a commitment to each other. Each session is only as good as what people put into it. Come ready to engage in the discussion, complete your action items, encourage your fellow cohort members, and make real changes to your rollout.
-
Much like how individual-level prevention is good but prevention across the social-ecological model is better, training matters but doesn't change behavior on its own.
The Coaching Cohort takes the Roadmap framework and turns it into a plan built around your specific program, barriers, and environment. And the peer support and accountability structures mean you'll have actually started making progress and built momentum that carries past the end of the Cohort.
-
You'll get a concept summary and action item instructions after every session, so you can catch up before we meet again.
We don't record sessions. Participants share candidly about what isn't working in their organizations, and that's easier without a recording in existence. Because the peer interaction matters so much, we strongly encourage you to attend all six.
-
If you register and then are no longer able to attend, you can transfer your registration to another person at your organization until October 1.
If transferring isn't an option, you can cancel your registration:
By September 10 for a full refund
Between September 11–25 for a 50% refund
After September 25, registrations are non-refundable
If you can no longer participate, please let us know either way, even after the refund deadline. It gives someone on the waitlist a chance to join.
Your registration is protected: the Cohort requires a minimum enrollment, and in the unlikely event it doesn't run, every registration is refunded in full.
